Individual Therapy

“Describe Individual Therapy?”

Individual therapy nurtures growth by addressing life’s constraints, much like pruning a plant to encourage new branches. It’s tailored to your unique needs, helping you identify where you are, where you want to grow, and the obstacles in your path. I provide tools and exposure to diverse experiences, allowing your roots to spread and strengthen.

My approach is rooted in the body, focusing on your current life experiences, mental and physical states, and strategies to help you flourish. As a Brainspotting, EMDR, and Ego-States therapist, I assess which interventions and tools best support your growth.

I usually suggest that people have therapy once a week or twice a week.

“What are your specialties?”

Are you a queer-identifying individual feeling tangled in intrusive emotions? Do you wish to nurture your daily life and deepen your connection with your body and true self? Individual therapy can be the sunlight guiding you to clarity and balance.

I specialize in helping individuals (ages 15 and older) cultivate tools to recognize and embrace their emotions, navigate their relationships, and overcome intrusive stressors and trauma.

Weekly or bi-weekly individual therapy can be covered by your insurance through in-network or out-of-network benefits. If you choose not to use insurance, details on costs are available in the costs section.

“Why therapy? Why now?”

I’m often asked this question and you’ll often hear me ask this question in consultations and intakes. There are so many reasons why someone may be reaching out to seek individual therapy right now. This reasons may include:

  • Referral from doctor/medical provider.

  • Mental Health symptoms worsening overtime.

  • Recent exposure to triggering events.

  • The chaos of the world that we live in.

  • A thought looming in the background, “something doesn’t feel right”.

Whatever is the reason, I will validate you and support your decision for seeking individual therapy.
